How to check your tyre size

Finding the right tyre size is simple once you know where to look. Every tyre has a code printed on its sidewall that tells you the exact size you need when ordering replacements.

1. Locate the Tyre Size on the Sidewall

Look for a sequence of numbers and letters on the outside edge of your tyre. It will look something like:

205/55 R16 91V

This code contains all the information needed to match your tyres correctly.

2. Understand What the Numbers Mean

• 205 – Tyre width in millimetres
• 55 – Aspect ratio (height of the sidewall as a percentage of the width)
• R – Radial construction
• 16 – Wheel diameter in inches
• 91V – Load and speed rating

You don’t need to memorise these details — just make sure you copy the full code exactly as shown.

3. Check All Four Tyres

Some vehicles use different sizes on the front and rear. Quickly check each tyre to confirm they match before placing an order.
